Previous Quilling Works #3 - 2013 Quilled Bookmarks

I made this bookmarks as gifts for teachers in a school for our Golden Oil campaign. I made the logo only using Paint actually LOL. It is a shape of wok and a drop of oil.

Quilling Box Pop Up Card

This is my first attempt at making box pop up card. I saw this type of card from Miss Azlina's blog . My friends asked me to make a card for our supervisor for final year project, so I thought to give this card a try. I searched on how to make the box card, and I was actually surprised at how easy it is! Here are the pictures on the making of my first box pop up card.

The inside of the box. I used A4 size card for the box.

The outside of the box.

The inside of petals for husking flower.

The finished quilled flowers.

Closer look. I made Malaysian flowers, husking flower, some basic shaped flowers, and a butterfly. The butterfly was actually supposed to be a flower but I was too tired already at that time ><

After assembling the quilling parts.

How the card look when it's closed.

Here is the complete look. I added our names and some sticker embellishments. (Picture credit to Syahirah)
I am very happy with the outcome! We had a makan-makan with our supervisor and gave this to her. I am really glad our supervisor likes it.

P/S: I was thinking on making a business for quilling crafts. Anyone interested?

2014 New Year Typography Quilling

I  posted this a year after hahahaa. This was my first attempt in making numbers using typography. Every new years eve, I look forward to fireworks. I really love fireworks! I was lucky because my room was at the 6th floor, and I saw the fireworks in the sky. This piece was inspired from a quilled signage by Miyyah@kertas, and the burst of colors form the fireworks, thus the bright colors. The base is cereal box, as usual. And I made this in the middle of study week...

Beginning with the numbers. I used  a thick paper for this as it holds the shape better.

Adding the shapes. I made random quilled shapes and glued them wherever I like. No planning beforehand.

Closer look. I started using honeycomb techniques here.

The finished look.

Love the colors!

Happy Birthday Quilled Card

This is a simple gift for my friend+roommate's birthday in September 2014. I used cereal box as the base. I use anything I can find in my stash ><!

I made Malaysian flower and a simple flower. Those green coils are for the leaves.

Initial look. Yes I made this on my bed.

I found it to be a bit plain, so I added more dots...

... using bronze Sharpie. It looks better I think.
Gave it to her and I'm glad she likes it! It's always a joy to make someone happy.

Previous Quilling Works #2 - 2012 Quilling Works

I haven't updated this blog for an entire year!!! From my third year of studies it was really hectic, up until now. I am currently a final year student, struggling to study for final exam next week. Nothing much to say in this post. These are the quilling I made back in 2012, the year I started doing this craft. Enjoy the pictures! (excuse the not-so-good-looking ones, I'm still learning ><)

Here is my first quilling. The colored papers are actually from sticky notes.
First attempt at typography. D is my initial.
First attempt at husking techniques. No combs used. Just estimated the length of each loops.

First attempt at full piece. This is one of my personal favorites.

That's all for this post. I'll post pics of my quilling works in 2014 in next posts. Thank you for reading.
